Josie has practiced Reiki since 1992 and studied healing and spirituality for decades. Beginning in 1992, when she moved from New Jersey to Arizona, she has trained from the deserts to the mountains to the sea, weaving the wisdom of the natural world with profound regard for divine law and grace.
Josie is a passionate advocate of prayer and faith and believes that the path of healing always leads to the sacred. She is a faithful follower of best-selling author Caroline Myss, most inspired by her teaching that “All of life is God in disguise.” Through Caroline, she has worked with Julie Flaherty and Stacey Couch, studying the Sacred Contracts course as well as other mystical teachings. Josie has been guided in St. Teresa of Avila’s work, “The Interior Castle,” by James Finley and Mirabai Starr. She is a devout disciple of Mirabai and Jim as well as Thomas Merton, Richard Rohr, and other contemporary mystics.
She is trained and experienced in holy listening, deep reflection, and discernment as well as versed in the wisdom teachings of many traditions. She worked for a decade in Texas and Colorado in the mental health field, including emergency crisis counseling for domestic violence victims and in addiction and recovery. In addition to her spiritual direction work, Josie is a Certified Archetypal Consultant through Caroline Myss’ CMED program, an Advanced Reiki Practitioner, a Licensed Massage Therapist, and a Certified End-of-Life Doula. She has participated in and facilitated women’s healing circles for fourteen years and has a daily practice of contemplation, prayer, spiritual reading and, always, gratitude. Josie is a runner and a writer and lives a mostly quiet life of devotion on her small mountain farm in Pennsylvania with three dogs, three cats, two pigs, two turkeys, a pony, and an assortment of tree, crow and spirit friends.
